Laughing Myself Awake Out Loud

I forgot what my dream was about but someone either did or said something funny. And I laughed in my dream. And it woke me up. I woke up laughing. I have never done that.. but... It was actually quite refreshing. I wish I could wake up laughing more often.

Empty

This dream happened a few months ago. I've just been too scared to write it down until now. It wasn't a scary dream at all.. In fact it was a step towards closure in both my waking mind and my subconscious. And there are some very heavy symbols. One in particular.

So in my dream, I was at someone's wedding. It had to be a family wedding because my dad was there and his friend Charley and a lot of people I recognized. I don't know whose wedding it was in particular. All I know is that I was there at the reception wandering around by myself. Then she was there. My ex. And it was strange. She was there alone too.

I came up and talked to her and we moved away from the crowd and into another area of wherever this place was at. We were talking on the couch and suddenly it got intimate. We moved closer to each other and then.. we kiss. And it wasn't just an 'oh I miss you, it's been so long' kind of kiss. This one felt like a first kiss. As if we had never kissed before until now.. even though we both knew we have. And it was powerful. And then we went outside and walked down the road.

Then, we stopped. And we were holding hands facing each other. I told her how much I loved her and how much it hurt to be away from her for so long. And I told her I would love nothing more than to have her back. Then mysteriously I was holding a ring box. I didn't have this before, I did not plan on this at all. But it was there, as if it materialized in my hand. And I opened it to find that the box was.... empty. And that was the end of the dream.

Symbols

Wedding:

To see a wedding in your dream, symbolizes a new beginning or transition in your current life. A wedding reflects your issues about commitment and independence. Alternatively, your wedding dream refers to feelings of bitterness, sorrow, or death. Such dreams are often negative and highlight some anxiety or fear. If you dream that the wedding goes wrong or ends in disaster, then it suggests that you need to address some negativity immediately.

To dream that you are attending a wedding, consider how you feel at the wedding. If you are upset or sad, then it means that you are unhappy about the current status of your life. If you are happy, then you are embracing a new change in your life.

Ex:
To dream about your ex-boyfriend/girlfriend or ex-husband/wife or that you and your ex got back together again, suggests that something or someone in your current life is bringing out similar feelings you felt during that relationship with your ex. The dream may be a way of alerting you to a similar behavioral patterns in your current relationship. What you learn from that previous relationship, may need to be applied to the present one so that you do no repeat the same mistakes. Alternatively, you may be reflecting on the positive experiences and good times that you shared with your past love.

Kiss:
To dream of a kiss, denotes love, affection, tranquility, harmony, and contentment. To see others kissing in your dream, suggests that you are too involved in someone else's personal lives and relationship. You need to give them some space. If the dream ends just about as you are about to kiss someone, then it indicates that you are unsure of how he or she really feels about you. You are looking for some sort of relationship with this person but you are not sure about how to go about achieving it.

Ring:
To see or receive a ring in your dream, symbolizes emotional wholeness, continuity, commitments and honor. If the ring is on your finger, then it signifies your commitment to a relationship or to a new endeavor. You are loyal to your ideals, responsibilities, or beliefs.

To dream that you lose a ring or someone has stolen your ring, represents insecurity. You may be losing interest in some relationship or issue.

Box:
To dream that you are opening a box, indicates an aspect of yourself that was once hidden is now being revealed. It symbolizes self discovery. Consider your feelings as you open the box. If opening the box fills you will fear, you may be uncovering aspects of yourself that cause you to feel anxious.

INTERPRETATION:
This dream haunted me for awhile as I thought about what it meant. And I couldn't get the image of that empty ring box out of my head. I felt content and excited in that dream until that moment.

I mostly felt lonely at that wedding, reflecting my waking feelings of loneliness and bitterness. Then she came around and at first I felt hesitant. But then as we talked, it was as if we reflected on the things we missed about each other. And the kiss is a symbol of affection for each other and that feeling of it being a first kiss, to me feels like a new beginning. A chance for us to start again.

But when that ring box appeared and was empty.. It changed my perspective of the dream. Yes, I've had these feelings and longing for us to be together again. And what I said, I wakingly felt. My love since high school, us back together. But the ring box was empty.. To me signifying an empty promise. That if we were in a position to get back together, the fact is we are two different people than who we were.. when we were together. And that there is no promise that we could ever work out again. Alternatively, opening the empty ring box represents the revealing of my emotional emptiness and insecurity. And because of that.. I no longer have any substance and am no shape to be in a relationship right now. I long for it, but I'm not ready yet.

The dream told me that I should let go and move on. That there is no promise or guarantee that we'll ever be.. again. That it has drained my emotions and is draining ME and who I am. I'm losing substance and if I continue on this path, I'll never be with anyone else again. I have to work to become secure and happy with myself only and be the better person that I'm meant to be. Another step towards closure..

Mr. Hicks

I've been having trouble remembering my dreams lately and I rarely post anymore. I think it's because of stress. If there's too much stress in your life, you won't remember your dreams. Perhaps last night's dream could reveal at least one thing I'm stressed about.

It was short and bitter. I was in the kitchen of my mom's house. I was looking for something in the refrigerator. My mom walks in and I turn around. She says, "I have something to tell you..."
"Alright," I say.
"Nevermind."
"No, you already said you had something to tell me. So say it."
"Well.. I was gonna tell you later but... Steve died."

[Steve is a very good friend of mine and has been since I was 10. I just saw him a few days ago. He seemed fine.] I couldn't believe what she said. I was shell shocked. It didn't matter how he died.. just how I dealt with it. I started to breathe heavy and woke up breathing the same way.

Symbols:

Death: To dream about the death of a loved one, suggests that you are lacking a certain aspect or quality that the loved one embodies. Ask yourself what makes this person special or what do you like about him. It is that very quality that you are lacking in your own relationship or circumstances. Alternatively, it indicates that whatever that person represents has no part in your own life.

Mother: To see your mother in your dream, represents the nurturing aspect of your own character. Mothers offer shelter, comfort, life, guidance and protection. Some people may have problems freeing themselves from their mothers and are thus seeking their own individuality and development.
To dream that you are having a conversation with your mother, denotes a matter that has preoccupied your mind and you are not sure how to deal with it in your waking life. It indicates unresolved problems that still need to be worked out with your mother.

INTERPRETATION: A few nights ago, my girlfriend, Steve, and I went to Red Lobster. It was hard to get a word in. Steve is very social. He always has good things to say about me. I'm way too hard on myself and think otherwise. It's affected my self-perception horribly. I had had a long day, was in a bad mood, and kind of just wanted to crash when I got home. When we got back, my friend from out of town is there with his brother and none of my roommates were there to hang out with them. I wanted to see him.. but it was bad timing. Steve talked with them for awhile before they had to leave. I guess sometimes, especially lately, I've been missing that social spark. Not being able to make people feel good about themselves cause I don't feel too good about me. I've been too selfish. Perhaps that dream was to wake me up. I'll need more than that. When I become too confident sometimes.. I become an asshole and I don't want that. I have a lot of things to work on in my life before I make any big decisions about anything.

3 Tornadoes

This dream was pretty intense also. It took place outside some house in the country.

A storm was coming just as the sun was going down, shooting rays of orange and red just below the dark storm clouds. The dream became fast paced. Racing across the horizon were 3 tornadoes! 3 perfectly identical tornadoes in shades of red.

There was a small crowd of people in front of me consisting of friends and family. All of a sudden, the Earth seemed to drop from beneath us. Or maybe we became caught up above the sky, above the Earth into space. We were somehow above the Earth as it seemed to die beneath us.

And as quickly as the Earth dropped, it started spinning. But not as it should. Not counter-clockwise toward the east... but counter-clockwise towards the south. As if the axis had shifted drastically. It spun so fast and as it did, the stars became distorted and moving faster than a mixture between a Windows screen saver and the visualizer effects on iTunes. It was so intense that I woke up a little disoriented and breathing fast.

INTERPRETATION: To me, this dream has some strong Christian elements. The three tornadoes could represent the Holy Trinity-the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. With that in mind, the events in the dream could signify end of the world events.

"After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever." I Thessalonians 4:17

"Each star will disappear-- the sky will roll up like a scroll. Everything in the sky will dry up and wilt like leaves on a vine or fruit on a tree." Isaiah 34:4

The righteous will be separated and caught up in the air while the Earth is destroyed by fire and re-created. Though there was no fire in the dream, just the red tornadoes. In Exodus 13::21-22, God appears as a pillar of fire: 21 And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night: 22 He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.

War of the Worlds

Long time, no post. I had to post this one. Last night's dream was probably one of the most vivid and exciting dreams I have ever had.

It was late afternoon in a very strange but beautiful city. A city with buildings on mountains. Mountains that were on top of water. No land to connect the mountains.. just bridges connecting one mountain to another.. going over the deep blue water. The sky was dark and gray. A storm was here and was about to unleash all it had on the bridge I was traveling across and this town on mountains on water. The longer I drove on this bridge, the more intense the rain fell, the more frequent the lightning, and the fewer cars I saw traveling the opposite direction. Truly, one of the most intense storms of this mountain/water town. I look up through the windshield and past the rain beating hard, I caught a glimpse of something terrible.

As if a black hole had impossibly entered the Earth's atmosphere, a huge black vortex was in front of me and passing over me. Surely it was a funnel cloud with a tornado that was about to drop at any minute. But it seemed more than that. Something much worse. The funnel cloud was pitch black in contrast to the surrounding dark gray clouds. Whatever was about to be unleashed by this thing, I didn't wanna know or be underneath it.

At this point, no other cars were on the bridge. So I spun the car around and jetted off in the other direction. Wrong direction on the bridge but the only direction away from the vortex. My heart jumped and started racing as I see it accelerate in my direction. As if it had been waiting for me all along. Racing to the other side, I enter a tunnel leading into the mountain. My only safety... or so I thought...

About 50 feet into the tunnel, CRASH! Some kind of metal structure crashes through the mountain. Blocking my path, the only way to go is into it. The crash didn't seem to phase me, probably due to the adrenaline in my veins. I get out immediately and run back toward the opening of the tunnel. Then I see what that black cloud really held. A huge bi-ped robot. Like something from War of the Worlds.. and it was coming for me. I'm doomed. No where to go. Feeling as if my movements were possessed by Neo from the Matrix, I search for something, anything. The bi-ped gets very close. I find a crack in the tunnel wall, large enough for a body. MY body! The motions continue, and I crash through the opening. One last terrible crash from the attacking bi-ped, rocks fall as if the whole mountain was collapsing, and then lights out.

I awake and my body is so bruised, scratched, and sore that I can't even remember who I am. I remember what happened and realize where I am.. In a pile of wreckage at the bottom of the mountain near the water. How is it that I didn't die? Thank you again, adrenaline. I'm underneath some rocks that form a mini cave just large enough to hide me. Good thing... Flying devices appeared to patrol the area.. searching for any survivors that need to be exterminated. I feel like the last one alive. Any slight movement feels monitored. Where to go now? Am I the last one left on Earth? If there are any more survivors, where are they and what do I do? What can I do?

Echo

I was standing on a dock in the middle of a lake far in the wilderness. Hundreds of miles from any city. This lake was the home of dozens of dolphins. I looked over and saw about 8 of them swimming my direction in a line. One of them jumped 10 feet in the air. Another, not to be outdone, jumped 30 feet in the air! They never jumped that high at Sea World! The third one, not to be outdone by either of them jumped over 100 feet into the sky and landed back in the water. It was like a scene from Echo the Dolphin, an old Sega Genesis game.

For one thing, dolphins do not live or would survive in a lake. And then dolphins flying 100 feet in the air.. wow.

The Matrix

Last night's dreams were very odd but awesome. The first one started on top of a really high building at night. Everything looked comic book styled, almost like Sin City. It was known that aliens were attacking the city. Yet people were resisting valiantly. Two warriors were beside me as a UFO hovered up from below. Willing to fight and die, they took a primitive item and ran toward the edge of the building. One guy stopped and threw his. The other guy jumped off the side while throwing it at the UFO. The UFO resembled a B-2 "Spirit" Stealth Bomber. The man relaxed his body as he fell, knowing he was gonna die. His body hit the edge of the UFO which sent him spinning fast and violently as he fell.

The second dream was set during the day on top of the tallest building I had ever stood on, perhaps the tallest in the world. I stared over the edge, seeing the street below. My legs felt like jello. That weak legged feeling you get when you're up high. I realized I was dreaming. Then I challenged myself. What if I tried to overcome my fear and just jump off of this building? Question this 'reality' and surrender to gravity and imminent death. I geared myself up to do it. Looking down, still with the jello legs, I jumped. I was falling fast and the intensity of the fall grew. People usually wake up from a dream with this much intensity but I stayed asleep. I don't remember anything else halfway down. I went to another dream.

Again, I was on top of another building, not quite as high, standing in the center away from the edge. Next thing I see is a guy run and jump off the side. The theme of suicide was not known in these dreams. It was almost like a challenge to that 'alternate reality.' To do anything I want just to see what will happen. On the edge of being a lucid dream.

INTERPRETATION: Lately I've looked into Scientology and what the so-called religion or organization is all about. It was founded by a guy who wrote Sci-Fi for a living. Without going into all the details, I've found nothing but terrible things about Scientology. That it operates more like a business than a religion. When one digs deeper, one finds ridiculous Sci-Fi elements. Perhaps my findings influenced the dream. Also a video that I saw on YouTube. It's a video showing protesters in front of a Church of Scientology in Orlando, Florida. They are holding 'Honk if you hate Scientology' signs.

The first dream could be a parallel to the protesters. These protesters (people on the roof) willing to fight an evil organization (COS) or what the UFO could symbolize. The other two dreams could be similar to The Matrix in that I was inside of it but realizing it. A simulated world. I've read and seen video of an organization called 'Anonymous.' They are a group of elite computer hackers that have attacked the Church of Scientology in the virtual realm. Revealing and spreading documents and information on the internet that the so-called church has kept secret from its members and everyone. Their ultimate goal is to bring down the Church of Scientology or at least bring them to a point where they admit all their wrongdoings and deceptions to its members and become open about everything. I as well as Anonymous are not opposed to the members of Scientology. Freedom of religion and speech. However I am against any organization that keeps secrets from its members, takes their money without hesitation, and victimizes them.

I don't want those facts to alter anyone's interpretation. It's entirely possible that these dreams could be telling me something completely different. Something I'm not seeing or ignoring. The second dream could be as simple as me challenging my courage in the face of fear and death.
